Sport Guildford Awards 2019

The Guildford Sports Awards 2019 provide a fantastic opportunity to recognise and reward talented local athletes, coaches, volunteers, teams and clubs for their outstanding achievements in sport over the past 12 months.

Sport Guildford took nominations in the following categories, and the winners are:

  • Active Community Project of the Year - Onslow Ladies Football
  • Active School Innovation of the Year - Holy Trinity Pewley Down School
  • Specsavers Young Sports Personality of the Year - Alexandra Snowdon - Aldwych Speed Skating
  • Sports Personality of the Year - Alice Masterman, The British Sailing Team
  • Young Sports Team of the Year - Guildford Hockey Club's Under 18s Boys Team
  • Eagle Radio Sports Team of the Year - Guildford City Master Swim Squad
  • Surrey Playing Fields Young Volunteer of the Year - Elena Rose, Flair Gymnastics
  • Volunteer of the Year - Graham Sampson - Guildfordians Rugby & Football Club
  • Sports Club of the Year - Worplesdon Rangers Football Cluv
  • Inclusive Sports Award - Chris Boys - Guildford Rowing Club
  • Active Surrey Coach, Leader or Instructor of the Year- Mark Rawlinson, Guildford Rowing Club
  • The Barry Hitchcock Outstanding Service to Sport - Danny Skillman - Guildford Rowing Club
  • The Sport Guildford Award - Pam Morphew, Friday Swimmers
  • Guildford Borough Council's Young Ambassador of the Year - Jenson Dickie

Those who were successfully short-listed for the local awards were invited to attend the awards show at Guildford Pavilion on Thursday 14 November 2019, 7pm.

Winners from the Sport Guildford Awards will go forward to Active Surrey’s county-level roadshow, where judges will decide who deserves the honour of being named the best in Surrey.

Those county-level winners will be celebrated locally in their community during January & February 2020.
