Sport Godalming Awards 2019

Friday 8 November, 7pm, Wilfrid Noyce Community Centre

Sport Godalming is an independent body with a wide brief in local leisure and sports for Godalming and surrounding villages. Sport Godalming Awards are held annually to recognise local sporting achievement and celebrate the passion local people have for sport. Winners will be announced in style at the awards ceremony.

Sport Godalming received nominations in the following award catagories, and the winners are:

  • Specsavers Sport Development Award - Waverley Harriers
  • Charterhouse Club Sports Personality of the Year - Shaun Moorey
  • Trade Direct Insurance Young Sports Personality of the Year - Yasmina Hasan
  • Volunteer of the Year - Ines Duran Higginson & Tanya Boardman
  • Active Surrey Coach, Leader or Instructor of the Year - Stephen Allford
  • Sports Club of the Year
  • Waverley Borough Council Sports Team of the Year - Guildford Hockey Club Ladies 1st XI
  • Go Godalming Association Young Sports Team of the Year - Charterhouse Boys Hockey
  • Long Service Award - Andrew Baker
  • Outstanding Service to Sport - John McKenna
  • Godalming Angling Society Disability Sport Award - Chris Carson
  • Sport Godalming's Chairmans Special Award - Bryony Bovell
  • Sport Godalming shield for Club Excellence - Guildford Hockey Club

Those who were successfully short-listed for the local awards were invited to attend the awards show at the Wilfrid Noyce Centre which took place on Friday 8 November 2019, 7pm.

Winners from the Sport Godalming Awards will go forward to Active Surrey’s county-level roadshow, where judges will decide who deserves the honour of being named the best in Surrey.

Those county-level winners will be celebrated locally in their community during January & February 2020.
